Randy, the owner, has lived in Baldwin County since 2005, and he lives in Foley. He started Diamond Auto Care in 2017. The shop is on County Road 55, near Magnolia School.
Every coating gets the same work. We machine polish the paint first, the coating goes on inside the shop, and a maintenance visit every 6 months keeps the 7-year warranty active.
Pollen and sprinklers are the big two here. We are also about 15 minutes from the beach, so everything that hits paint in Gulf Shores hits it in Foley too.
Pollen is a major problem in Foley. On bare paint it slowly bonds to the clear coat and hardens, and then it takes more scrubbing to get off. On a coated vehicle most of it stays on top and rinses off.
Lawn sprinklers are about the worst thing for paint around here. The water dries, the minerals stay, and over time they work down into the clear coat. If the sprinklers reach where you park, move the vehicle or move the sprinkler head.
We are about 15 minutes from the beach, and that is close enough. You do not have to drive on the sand to get salt film on your paint. With a coating on, it lands on the coating first instead of your clear coat.
A UV index that stays high from March through October, and lovebugs twice a year. Both hit hardest on paint with nothing on it, new paint included. We regularly see etching on vehicles with under 100 miles on them.
A garage helps a lot, and if you have one, use it. Plenty of our customers park outside full time, though, and their coatings hold up excellent. The vehicle that lives outside is the one that needs it most.
Water does not hang on a coated vehicle the way it hangs on bare clear coat, so a good drying towel or a blower gets it dry fast. That matters here. Water left to dry is where spots come from.

Keep washing it, and dry it every time. Every 6 months you bring it back for a maintenance visit ($150), which keeps the warranty active. From anywhere in Foley, that is a short trip.
Then we will tell you, and you can keep your money. Most of what we coat is new, and new paint is the best place to start, because nothing has been taken off the clear coat yet.
